Dr. Jerry White, international president emeritus of The Navigators, is a popular speaker on topics of discipleship, leadership, theology of work and ethics.
He earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, a masters in astronautics from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a PhD in astronautics from Purdue University. He served as a mission controller at Cape Canaveral in the early days of the US Space program, was an associate professor of astronautics at the US Air Force Academy. He retired from the Air Force in 1997 as a major general. In addition to leading The Navigators for 18 years, he has served with the Lausanne Movement as leader of the Lausanne Workplace Network.
He authored and co-authored (with Mary White) 16 books including Honesty, Morality and Conscience, Rules to Live By,Unfinshed:How to Approach Life’s Detours, Do-Overs, and Disappointments and To Be a Friend. Jerry and Mary have 4 children and 11 grandchildren. They live in Colorado Springs. Jerry is an avid handball player.
Mary White is an author, speaker and homemaker. She earned her bachelors degree in English from the University of Colorado. She authored or co-authored a number of books, including When Your Kid’s Aren’t Kids Anymore: Parenting Adult Children, Succssful Family Devotions, and Harsh Grief, Gentle Hope, which is the account of the tragic death of their son, Stephen. Her delight in life is her 11 grandchildren.
